After more than 3 months under the COVID-19 lockdown in Moradabad, Noah’s Ark was given permission to open its factory with only 30% of the workforce. Recently, government officials allowed the factory to return back to 100% workforce.
Noah’s Ark COVID-19 actions for all Employees and Artisans
In order to prepare ourselves to re-open the factory, we took various company-wide measures to ensure that no employee’s health and safety would be neglected during this pandemic. Mandatory screening procedures were adopted such as:
- We record body temperature twice a day using infrared thermometer.
- Contact tracing is maintained.
- All incoming goods are sanitized every day .
- Personal Protection Equipment is provided such as: masks, gloves and face shields.
On a more positive note, we are proud to say that Noah’s Ark did not have any lay-offs and paid full salaries during the curfew. We are also distributing Personal Protective Equipment to the artisan workshops and have provided approx. US$1,575 of financial grants to numerous artisans since May. These grants continued to be given in the month of June.
Our mission is To empower low income artisans to break the cycle of poverty, which is why we take a “People First” approach. We thank all our partners for supporting us fully during this pandemic by continuing to place orders.
